So with the new year nearly upon us, we are hit with a massive announcement from Nikon. The D300 & the D3. I must admit I am very excited for the new development from my favorite camera company. While I won't be purchasing any of these cameras any time soon, I am happy to see a new development from Nikon. Most of all I am happy to see a full frame sensor from Nikon. Its about time. And with a price tag around 5k, while out of my range, is not outrageous.
I also find it funny that the Nikon announcement has some what dwarfed Canons announcement of the EOS-1Ds Mark III. I visit forums of both communities and have seen all the talk of the new Ds from Nikon, but it seems quite on the Canon front. Is it me or does 21mp just seem like overkill? It seems if your in need of that much resolution, you would just go MF digital.
It will be interesting to see the new developments from Nikon next year. Its going to be a good year...
